ES Global, a leading solutions-driven provider of demountable structures to music, sporting, cultural, corporate, and public sectors, welcomes the opening of the ABBA Arena, the purpose-built arena for ABBA Voyage.
Opening to critical acclaim ABBA Voyage – featuring digital versions of ABBA performing their greatest hits and new songs, backed by a ten-piece live band – is booking performances until May 2023.
ES Global collaborated with Stufish Entertainment Architects who designed the Arena. The innovative 360-degree view, column free, Arena has an audience capacity of 3,000. It has been built as a demountable, tourable structure by ES Global at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. ABBA’s immersive concert is performed under a 740-tonne roof which was lifted and installed as a single element enabling the column-free view for audiences. Dance floors, audience seating and bars have been incorporated in the Arena.
This ambitious project has been realised through design, innovative building methodologies and unique technologies.
Jeff Burke and Olly Watts, CEOs of ES Global said:
“The opening of ABBA Voyage is a hugely exciting moment for ES Global and its partners. Our most exciting Arena build ever. Realising this unique Arena, during the 10th anniversary year of London 2012 and our management buyout, reconnects us to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – the place our business was born.
We’re delighted to support ABBA, the ABBA Voyage producers Svana Gisla and Ludvig Andersson, and director Baillie Walsh, in realising their creative vision and to be a part of establishing another great cultural landmark in London for this innovative show. We thank our clients and partners Aniara, Stufish Entertainment Architects, our Project Management, Design and Construction teams and our supply chain partners and collaborators for their dedication and diligence in realising this extraordinary achievement.”
