Jakarta 2018 Velodrome

Go Back to Projects

Project Overview

Jakarta will host the Asian Games in 2018. A feasibility study was commissioned to determine the possibility and viability of a new Velodrome. During our discussions with the Jakarta authorities, it became apparent there was a viable demand for a permanent venue in Jakarta. The development of cycling in Indonesia and the possibility of hosting further world class cycling events were both drivers in the decision to create a permanent velodrome. The Velodrome will comply with the highest international cycling federation standards, be a centre of excellence for cycling in Asia whilst being a very cost effective solution. The building has also been designed to host other activities as part of the ongoing legacy.
